Night Mode (Android)
This option allows you to protect your eyes from the negative effects of the blue light spectrum from the gadget screen in the evening. Ophthalmologists recommend reducing the brightness of the screen during dark hours, making the light softer and more comfortable for the eyes.
The harmful effect of blue light is attributed to the nature of our eyes - human receptors perceive images with a blue spectrum of colors as less clear because they are short-wave and do not reach the bottom of the eyeball.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has named the spread of wavelengths of the blue spectrum as the range of functional risk to the retina.
That is why in the evening time it is necessary to make the screen in softer and more comfortable colors for the eye with blue light filtering to reduce the risk of harmful effects of the screen on the vision.
To protect the child's eyes, you need to follow the following recommendations:
1. Use an auto timer that automatically turns on night mode. A schedule should be set beforehand, according to which the function will be switched on in the evening and off in the morning, at a time set by the parents.
2. Select the desired brightness adjustment mode. You can do this on the main screen of your smartphone. Here it is necessary to choose the tone in which the child's eyes will be less tired.
Users can click on the question mark next to the feature activation switch to learn more about the issues and recommendations of the ophthalmologists.
