How to block access to quick settings panel in the top notification shade of my smartphone? (Android)
The option under consideration enables parents to prevent their child from tampering with the gadget's settings. It can also be used by adults to add or remove desired features located in the top notification shade of the phone and prohibit the child from editing it.
Please use the following instructions to block access to the device settings:
1. Open the settings in the notification shade on your child's device and tap edit.
2. Remove some smartphone settings that may restrict the operation of the Parental Control Kroha app. For example:
- Location icon to prevent your child from disabling location tracking.
- Wi-Fi and data icons if your child wants to disable the Internet and limit remote control of their device.
- Power saving, which can stop Parental Control Kroha from operating in order to save battery power. We recommend that you read the instructions on how to set up power saving and battery optimisation.
3. Open the Parental Control Kroha app on the parent's device -> Select the child's device in the device list -> Select ‘Settings’ from the app menu.
4. Enable the setting ‘Block Access to Edit Quick Settings Panel’ in the Notification Panel menu.
Example of use: A parent has set up Parental Control Kroha on the child's smartphone, turned on the Internet (mobile and Wi-Fi) to enable real-time data and location data to determine the child's current location. Next, the parent can go into the settings of the notification shade on the child's smartphone, remove the display of Wi-Fi, data transfer, and location features, so that the child can't disable them, then lock the editing of the notification shade in the settings menu of the Kroha app on the parent's device. In this way, the parents will always be able to receive information from the child's smartphone and the child will not be able to turn off these functions.
